Half Moon aims to start second renovation phase in May

The Half Moon resort in Montego Bay plans to launch the second phase of its $75 million renovation in May.

Scheduled for completion October 2018, plans call for new restaurants, an expansion of the 2-mile beach and 57 new rooms and suites to replace 44 existing ones.

The 63-year-old resort will remain open during the renovations. “Our resort operations will not be impacted by this initiative,” said Sandro Fabric, general manager.

The 400-acre resort includes the Fern Tree Spa, 13 tennis courts, an equestrian center, 54 swimming pools, the Nancy Children’s Village, 31 villas ranging from four to seven bedrooms, and 197 guest rooms.

The second phase follows the 2015 refurbishment of the Sugar Mill restaurant, resort lobby and golf course, and the opening of Lester’s Cafe.
